Trigger happy gamers will rejoice once they hear about this news.

PlayStation.com has announced that a limited edition PlayStation 3 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Bundle will be released come May 25.

The bundle is expected to include a copy of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 game and a 320GB PS3 system.

The entire package will be sold for only $299. Fans of the game who may not own a PS3 yet may want to jump on this amazing offer from PlayStation and Activision.

MP1st – Modern Warfare 3 Might Get 3v3 Game Modes

Update 2: Infinity Ward has announced that “3v3 should be fixed now.”

Update 1: It seems that public 3v3 Face Off playlists have indeed been added to Modern Warfare 3, but not without its issues. Infinity Ward has stated, “we are aware of the 3v3 party limit (of 2), and we are addressing it very soon. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

Original Story: The studios behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 recently introduced the brand new 1v1 and 2v2 game mode Face Off to the series in the latest content drops on the Xbox 360 (soon on other platforms). ELITE members recently got their hands on four brand new Face Off maps while non-ELITE members got a taste of two for free just yesterday. All of these maps will be included in the MW3: Collection 2 DLC, which you can read our review of right here.

However, if 1v1 or 2v2 isn’t enough for you, you might be interested to know that 3v3 gameplay might be making its way to MW3 soon. Infinity Ward Community Manager Tina Placios hinted at the possibility when she tweeted earlier, “…a little bird told me 3v3 may be coming soon…”

Additionally, We tested this and found that spawn locking was far more possible on the smaller maps with larger team sizes. For now they will remain FaceOff specific in the public playlists. You can up the player count, however, in Private Match.

Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection #2 Launch Trailer « The …

If you have an Xbox 360 and premium Elite subscription then you are likely already playing all this new content, but for those that haven’t here’s a launch trailer to show you what’s waiting for you.

The DLC features a new game mode known as Face-Off, which sees both one-on-one and two-on-two battles take place on four specifically designed maps. Three new multiplayer maps are also included, along with two Spec Ops missions. All the details are in the trailer below. Content Collection #2 is available to non-Elite Xbox 360 players starting May 22, priced at 1200 Microsoft Points. As usual, PlayStation 3 and PC players will have to wait.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition a huge success, sets XBLA record



At a price of 1600 MS Points ($20), the Xbox 360 version of the sandbox-building game Minecraft has sold over 1 million digital copies in five days, making it the fastest selling Xbox Live Arcade game of all time.

Creator Markus ‘Notch’ Persson has noted that the 360 edition of Minecraft was “profitable in an hour” after the its release. The record was previously held by RedLynx’s 2.5D racer Trials Evolution, which Gamasutra reports sold over 100,000 copies in a single day. Trials was just recently released (April 18th) adding two quality titles to Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade library.

Games like Minecraft, Trials, and the PSN’s Journey are just a few of the more recent downloadable gems to come along — and all of ‘em cost no more then $20.00. Sadly (in a cheering for the little guy way) even with Minecraft’s success, it was the number three most played game this week on Xbox Live behind, you guessed it, Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops (you did guess it didn’t you?).

NovaLogic sues Activision over use of 'Delta Force' | Joystiq


NovaLogic, the developer behind 1998′s PC FPS Delta Force and its subsequent sequels, has filed suit against Activision over the inclusion of its own “Delta Force” in Modern Warfare 3. As you can see in the tastefully photoshopped comparison image above, Acti’s Delta Force logo (right) bears a striking resemblance to NovaLogic’s – additionally, NovaLogic owns a trademark on the words “DELTA FORCE.”

“Despite Activision’s irrefutable knowledge of NovaLogic’s superior trademark rights,” reads the complain, “Activision created knockoff marks that are nearly identical [to] NovaLogic’s design and word marks. Activision then shamelessly inserted these infringing marks throughout its competing first person military adventure video games.” The complaint also makes reference to the various Modern Warfare 3-branded headsets, Xboxen and strategy guides in production that feature Activision’s Delta Force logo.

Both NovaLogic and Activision’s fictional Delta Force teams are based on the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, a counter-terrorism branch of the United States military. NovaLogic claims that Activision’s inclusion of a Delta Force in MW3 has caused NovaLogic to lose millions, and that if “infringing practices are not discontinued quickly, it is likely that the damage to NovaLogic will grow exponentially, causing more confusion in the market place, and to the reputation for quality that NovaLogic has worked so hard to establish.” The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and also calls for an injunction to protect against further trademark infringement.

Modern Warfare 3 has topped the XBL chart for most players online for the week of May 7. The most played game in the Arcade division was Minecraft, followed by Trials Evolution and the prior week’s winner, The Walking Dead.
